La Embajada was an organization focused on the experimentation, research, and production of site-specific projects, addressing ideas related to the economy, territory, and nationality within the current crisis of representation.
From its inception in 2010 to its closure in 2020 due to COVID-19, La Embajada organized talks, conferences, workshops, residencies, projects, and exhibitions with countless artists and curators from various disciplines and nationalities. It also actively collaborated with other self-managed, non-profit cultural spaces and public and private institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo and Artesur in France; Escuela de Artes Plásticas & Diseño and AREA Lugar de Proyectos in Puerto Rico; Casa Wabi, Pasaporte Cultural, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Casa Vecina, Pasaporte Cultural, Centro de Cultura Digital, Centro ADM, Atea, Corrientes, Ovnibus, Museo Universitario del Chopo, Secretaría de Cultura, and Faro Tláhuac in Mexico; Realidade Poética in Brasil; CAAM Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and Gran Canaria Espacio Digital in Spain; The Cuenca Bienal in Ecuador; Mondriaan Fonds in the Netherlands, and Artist Pension Trust with their representative offices in New York, Los Angeles, London, Leipzig, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Amman, and Mexico.
